Job Summary:

We are seeking to hire people with a cooking background, but we are also willing to train those with less experience.

Smiley’s Family Restaurant has a full menu, western cuisine, and is a family friendly establishment. Smiley’s is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well, offering a full take-out menu. Located in Strathmore, Alberta since 1992, Smiley’s is both family owned and operated.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Read food order, receive verbal instructions and prepare and cook meals as per the specifications of Smiley’s Restaurant or special instructions of the client
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Train kitchen staff and oversee kitchen operations if requested
• Meets with customers if needed to ensure a great meal experience
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Capable of operating basic and specialized cooking equipment
• Efficient and works well under pressure
• Maintain accurate food inventories Monitor stock and place orders if required
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
• Ensure prepared food meets quality and quantity requirements
  Clean, cut and prepare foods for stock and cooking workstations (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Ensure that the kitchen area is cleaned, orderly and sanitized at the beginning and end of every shift
• Accept take-out and drive-thru drink and food orders and receive customer payment
• Responsible for handling money and daily cash outs

Employment Type:
Permanent full time, 40 hours per week available.
Starting hourly is $16.00, depending on skill level.
