Manny Pacquiao is the new WBC (World Boxing Council) and RING Super Featherweight Champion. Last Saturday, March 15, 2008, Pacquiao won by split decision in a classic boxing 12-round battle.
This fight represented the long awaited rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez, for the WBC Super Featherweight title.

The Calgary Filipino Community has 2 very active basketball leagues, Calgary Filipino Basketball Association (CFBA) and the Calgary Friendship League (CFL). They are run through association volunteers, sponsors and community support. Games are held on weekends in either the SW on 17th, or in the NE at the Calgary Soccer Complex.
