Philippine Independence Day is held on June 12. There are many picnics hosted all around Calgary for the Philippine Independence Day celebrations.
Philippine History:
The declaration of Philippine Independence from more that 300 years of Spanish rule was led by General Emilio Aguinaldo, who would then be installed as the new Republic’s first president, in Kawit, Cavite on June 12, 1898.
